Firefighting and emergency rescue – how to help rookie firefighters adapt to their working environment?
A 6-month practical training is conducted in two stages to help rookie firefighters adapt to their working environment, familiarize themselves with the conditions of the jurisdiction and the types of disasters in the shortest time, and achieve basic disaster relief capabilities. Stage 1 is practical brigade training to establish fire safety concepts and strengthen personal skills and teamwork ability; Stage 2 is the mentoring training, where the brigade selects and assigns outstanding senior fellow firefighters with excellent concepts, skills, professionalism and experience as instructors in a mentoring system. These instructors will teach the rookies what they know professionally and what they have learned from field experience in a one-to-one manner. Hopefully, the effect of on-the-job education is achieved by passing down experiences and instilling the concept of firefighting ethics.
